Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she is the only person to be recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would become the Romanian gymnastics coach. In 1969, she participated in the Romanian Junior Games where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international meet that was a preolympics junior competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. The first female to ever successfully complete a backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment business as a performer as a figure skater. With her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry as a teenager. Early on she was a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice skating shows which included stage performances.
