Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating in projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout her career. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will also be available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over a Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
